One of the most important aspects of business development is “Lead Generation”. And we all know that it is also one of the most tedious and difficult tasks. Before or after a certain product/ service is launched, creating a strong market is something that is vital. If the lead generation takes place prior to the launch, it enables the managers to have a rough idea about the performance of the product/ service in the market. Especially if you are in the education sector, hiring some education lead generation companies is something that you should consider. Furthermore, innovative strategies can be opted to improve the results; this creates a strong base. After the launch, the lead generation process expands even more, as the product/service is already in the market; for building a superstructure on the existing base. Lead Generation is a process that requires a lot of resources, namely- contacts, recruitment and communication skills, knowledge, and last but not the least, time. There are a lot of methods, tricks, and nicks to a very successful lead generation.   Here are my top 5 tips for effective and affordable lead generation.

1.   Recruitment

Lead Generation is not a one-man’s job. You not only require a team but an entire army for this process. Recruitment is the first step in the process of lead generation. You need to hire managers, who will then hire interns for lead generation. People who are at a managerial level must be graduates or postgraduates with prior experience in sales and marketing, which will help in mapping different business strategies. Implementation of these strategies is done by the interns hired; to actually draft and circulate messages, cold calling, and reporting. It works like a chain, and you hire managers, and managers hire the regional head or interns. In a way, recruitment may lead to prosperity or destruction of your lead generation process.  

2.   Interns

As mentioned above, the owners and managers only develop strategies and work on hiring and motivating the interns; it’s the interns who actually implement the strategies on the field. This is why hiring the right interns is so important. The best option is hiring college students. The right interns for lead generation are the ones with good communication skills, promptness, availability, and a lot of contacts. College-going students have their college groups, fest groups, and groups of different clubs working in or outside the college, through which messages can be circulated, and more and more leads can be generated.  

3.   Stipend Structure

A proper recruitment process can provide you with an amazing bunch of managers and interns. But, there is a lot of uncertainty. You may have the best managers, business strategists, and interns and still not get the desired results. There are also chances that they might stop putting in the desired or required amount of effort for the betterment of the organisation; they may also get used to a certain pattern and get into a comfort zone. This may falter the lead generation and also the organisation’s overall progress. This is why the best way to keep them motivated is to keep an incentive-based stipend. An incentive-based stipend works like a commission. This way, you will pay the employees who are actually working, giving inputs, and having outputs.  

4.   Targets

On the basis of study, knowledge, and previous experience, you should be able to set specific deadlines and targets for the employees again. If there are no deadlines or targets, people tend to procrastinate. And this procrastination results in piling of tasks assigned, delaying, indiscipline which affects the overall lead process and ineffectiveness. Different methods like arranging games and competitions, for example- fast five (the people who generate first five leads), ideas pond (where everyone can write random ideas without mentioning their names) and so on, among the employees can be opted, in order to keep the employees active.  

5.   Precise Knowledge

When you are selling a product or a service to another person, you need to make sure you have precise knowledge about the company and the product or service. For instance, imagine a scenario where you have to sell a book. You know the title, price, and even the date when it was published. When you approach a customer, you give her the mentioned details, but what if she asks you what the book is about? And you don't know! What kind of impression will be created, you think? Obviously, it a bad one. In the process of lead generation, this is exactly what you do not want to happen. This is why prior training and induction for all the employees about the company or organisation and the particular products or services is a must. When you have the precise knowledge, you also have confidence; and confidence is the key to lead generation.   These were the top 5 ways for an effective and affordable lead generation, in my opinion.
